Security Deposit & Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Click & Steer provides three protection options during booking so renters can choose how vehicle damage responsibility is handled.

These options apply to covered accidental vehicle damage only. Damage protection is a waiver model and is not an insurance policy.

Option 1 — Recommended Protection

• Available during booking.
• Charged at BBD $20/day.
• Reduces renter liability to $0 for covered damage.

Option 2 — Flat Damage Protection

• Available during booking.
• Charged as a one-time BBD $500 fee.
• Reduces renter liability to $0 for covered damage.

Option 3 — No Damage Protection

• No protection fee is paid upfront.
• Renter remains liable up to BBD $2000.
• Garage may require a refundable security deposit hold / authorization depending on the booking.

Covered damage and exclusions

Damage protection terms apply to covered accidental vehicle damage only.

Exclusions include:

• Dangerous or reckless driving
• Driving under the influence
• Unauthorized drivers
• Traffic violations
• Interior damage
• Tyre, wheel, glass, roof, or undercarriage damage
• Lost keys
• Theft due to negligence

Damage protection / CDW is not an insurance policy.

Why this is required

Partner garages must clearly set financial responsibility terms for vehicle damage before checkout. Showing these three options at booking ensures renters see the upfront cost and liability impact before confirming a reservation.
